A valley-hopping day in the High Atlas that goes beyond a single stop: Ourika and Setti Fatma, a mountain track to Oukaïmeden (about 2,600 m), lunch in a home in Sidi Fares, then Asni and Tahannaout on the way back.
Expect earth-and-stone villages on the hillsides, walnut, apple and olive orchards along the rivers, snow-capped peaks in winter and an argan cooperative where women press oil by hand.

Good to know
- Pick-up is usually between 7:00 and 8:00 from your hotel or riad; if you stay deep in the medina, the driver meets you at the nearest car-accessible point.
- Bring water, sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes; add a warm layer for mountain roads, which are much cooler than Marrakech.
- Carry small dirham notes for lunch, entrance fees, local guides and tips.
- Always ask before photographing people.
- Temperatures change a lot between valleys; bring layers, and warm clothes in winter for Oukaïmeden.
- If you want to see a souk, choose Monday (Ourika) or Saturday (Asni).
