An evening of '1001 nights' in a palm grove just outside Marrakech (at the Chez Ali venue): a Moroccan feast served in a traditional caïdal tent with rich cushions, followed by a show in the arena.
The highlight is the fantasia (tbourida), a horsemanship tradition in which lines of riders on Arab and Barb horses charge together and fire their rifles into the air at the same moment. Folk troupes, musicians, dancers and acrobats from across Morocco accompany the show, which ends with a 'flying carpet' finale.
